An award winning phone; a phone touted as the most secure android phone. I am considering buying it just for those bragging rights!lol

BlackBerry needs more consumers like you! Lmao
I've certainly agreed with some of your posts regarding the delayed security updates on the Dtek50 compared to their two other android devices but that is a little bit harsh. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I think overall for a device it is a very good mid-range choice.
I agree that was a bit on the harsher side and even a bit immature.
How do you set the sd card as internal??
When I put the card in the device it gave me the option to format the SD card and make it internal memory. I assume so that pictures and such default to the SD card as if it were internal memory on the device. If you do this though it warns you that you will only be able to use the SD card with the device.
And if for some reason your device dies, so does all your SD card data.
That may be so, I guess its a good idea to back up from time to time. Im a relative rookie to this stuff but it seemed like a good idea at the time since the phone is only 16gb.
So the SD card can actually be utilized for apps or just storage.
I basically just use my current iphone for YouTube, web browsing, texting and email. I am assuming this phone would be sufficient for my needs.
Have always like my past BBs, but the competition is overwhelming.
I cant stand our S6s at work. I hate the software. Is the blackberry slow and clunky.
I have a DTEK50. It is neither slow nor clunky.
Nope my new Dtek is fast. I'm impressed. To add to that (murphy's law) The phone dropped out of my pocket while bathing the 2 year old on sunday and right into the bath. It hit the bottom of the tub with a thud and I used my "cat like reflexes" to pull it out. Turned it off right away. Bagged it in silica, rice and millet and waited 3 days. Let it air dry one more day and then turned it on and it is still 100 percent operational. Pretty amazing in my boat. Its not sold as water resistant. Fingers crossed.
that's awesome! they are sturdy! I've dropped mine a few times now and no issues.
only some apps. it's not worth it IMO. i set mine up like that before and it's in developers hands. changed it back from adoptable to regular storage.
the dtek50 way faster than s6. the chipset the s6 uses kind of sucks.
If it had 32gb on board I wouldn't think twice about buying it. But with all the cheaper android phones like the new zte blade v8, I may just load hub++ and take my chances.
why? 16 is more than enough. Even w all my apps I'm only using 10.73gb. I have a 128gb card and using 75 plus GB for movies, music and docs
I've been using mine since launch and it sails right along. I don't know what you're doing to experience lag in performance.
Haha, that's a good use for it. I actually use mine almost daily as my reader. I've got Kobo on it and it works well.
That's great. I dropped mine while washing some dishes in a creek on a hunting trip 4 months ago and it's still working flawlessly.
Don't look. Just buy it
We have two in the family; my wife has one and and my daughter (college student) has one. My wife is happy though misses BB10, she carries two phones a Samsung (work issued) and a DTEK50 and she prefers her 50 over the Samsung. My daughter is on cloud nine as she is APP Happy though she complains about the hub not working the same as her Z10. Both are happy with battery life, feel, looks, and performance. My daughter has only ever used a BB her choice not mine.......
As far as I'm concerned the phone has no lag at all. It is crisp and quick.
As far as I am concerned I doubt people who think the fire tablet is a good investment even know what lag is.
It's like my aunts using the s3 who thinks it's the most advanced technology they've ever seen.
If the Priv lags, you can be sure the dtek50 lags. Even the iphone lags and so does the s7.
Use logic people...

I did not say I have a fire tablet. And I think people are generally just looking for an idea of whether the phone performs normal tasks without delay. This phone certainly does that. The term lag refers to slow response so for most people iphone 7 and s7 being the latest technology have no lag or are what people are comparing too. The Dtek50 does not have as powerful a processor but all i'm suggesting is that it performs normal tasks admirably. For some users that may not be enough but for most it will.
