Everytime I plug in to the headphone jack it drops volume by half. How do I get rid of this?

My guess is a faulty headphone jack I know Samsung had that issue... buddy of mine would just plug in head phone in and out or try another brand it could be slightly thicker to help push out the internal connection pins.

There's nothing wrong with your phone. It's a safety feature. Cannot be turned off as far as I know.
