I am setting up the Dtek and want to add my favourite ringtone. According to the user guide I put the mp3 file in the ringtones folder. Did this and expected to see it listed in the ringtones that are available. Not showing up. Anyone know where I am going wrong?????

I had to put the Ring tones I use in the notification file in internal memory. I added tones for email and sms.

I usually have MP3s as rigntones and place them in the ringtones folder in device's internal memory.

There's an option to pick from Music too. I put there with RT- as a prefix.

It is strange because I copied it to the internal ringtones folder (which did not show any other ringtones) so it should have showed up. will try again later - thanks everyone

I can't access the internal memory?
I have linked my PC to my Dtek50 via USB cable. I can see the SD card files, but can't see the internal memory files. I suspect this is security feature. But it means I can't load my own ring tone to the ringtones folder in the DTek. Any ideas?

Swipe down to see your notifications to change from charging to USB mass storage (or however that's labeled).

I downloaded the free file commander which gives you access to the internal memory

    installed file commander too.

But no luck. Still can't see the internal memory.
I used to see it the first time I wanted to put my own ringtone in. But after last nights update, only the sd card.

So connected to my laptop in mass storage and with file commander only the sd card. No internal memory.

    Someone got another idea?

Added ring tones to mine and couldn't find it were the normal ring tones are but found them in the file manager, music section. Might be worth checking the apps drawer and see if you have another file manager to check

You have to create a new folder for notifications and ringtones separately and then reboot the phone for it to take effect

Hi folks. I use File Commander. I moved the audio track to the ringtones folder. Works great. I miss having the ability to scout the entire SD card for any tone. I also terribly miss BB10 that i was forced to leave due to the carrier lack of support.

There is a Ringtones folder at /storage/emulated/0/Ringtones and an Alarms folder at /storage/emulated/0/Alarms but they may been hidden and won't show any files except the ones you copy to them.

If you use a File Manager app like Solid Explorer or ASUS File Manager they shouldn't be too hard to find. The may already be listed under Internal Storage or you can just do a search for them.

Put it in the (probably empty) folder "ringtones" in the main menu of your main storage view

You have to restart your DTEK50 for the ringtone to appear in the selection of ringtones.

I was looking to put my typewriter tone for SMS. Had a hard time till I found this thread. I copied the file to the Notifications folder instead of the ringtone folder and voila there it was. it was there without rebooting the phone.
