Same. The battery is actually really good. Not a heavy user myself but last I charged it was last night (to 100%) and it's still at 64% as of right now and don't plan on charging it until tomorrow. Last time I could say that was with the Passport.

The DTEK50 is plenty good for almost all tasks. The only practical limitation is the 16 gigabytes of device storage.

D50 is a surprisingly decent device. I added a 64GB expansion card for more storage. Quite impressed.

Yes for an all touch BlackBerry it is very good. I need a few tweaks to the HUB for me to prefer it over my BlackBerry 10 devices.

Really like the grippy back and how light weight it is. Very comfortable to hold when using the keyboard.

The Dtek50 is a great phone and the battery in mine is good for a couple of days of light use. I also use my smartwatch with the phone most of the day which doesn't run the battery down to much on bluetooth. I think the new android bb phone's may appeal to more people if they had of used a different name IMHO

I love the 50 and it fits my phone usage greatly, too, but just for the heck of it... which one would you have preferred ( just one) -- a 32gb internal storage, or a 3000 mAh battery?

The 32GB Internal storage for sure. But for me I've had the 50 since launch and now can't really see myself using any other phone..Android or BB10.

I just got mine. Got one for the wife also. She is debating keeping it of moving to the '60. This is mainly due to the larger screen and what should be a better camera.

Works for me, and the predictive typing helps to make up for the lack of a physical keyboard.

They don't seem to understand the security features of the device. They don't mention Integrity Detection at all. They also downplay the permission monitoring of the DTEK app.

They claim Nougat is just as secure, although the Verizon Pixel (which was supposed to be the unrootable variant) was rooted almost immediately.

A lot of tech sites usually do the review with a single experience, while the users really take a deep use of that, that's why sometimes it's better to see the comments than the official review in some sites.

Had mine for 5 days, and I'm really liking it. Battery life is fine so far, better than expected given some things I've read. Screen looks great, build quality seems solid. Android is a bit of a gong show coming from BB10, but I'm getting used to it. Great phone.

There are 3 reasons why i didn't get the DTEK50. Some of theses may not matter to people but to me it's somewhat important.

    1) The weight - i like having a phone that i can feel in my pocket. Something that feels substantial when I'm holding it and not a phone that's really light and almost feels like it's got nothing inside. The Blackberry Leap feels great in the hand and when i picked up a DTEK50 it just felt to light for me.

    2) The BlackBerry Name - This ill admit, isn't a huge thing, but when i use the phone, its nice to see that Branding on the front. Plus, if people see me with the phone, they can instantly see what it is.

    3) The battery size. Coming from a Blackberry Leap which has a 2,800mAh battery. i just couldn't pull the trigger and get a phone with a smaller battery. I have heard great things about the DTEK50's battery. It seems to last very well and I'm actually quite impressed but smaller is smaller.

Otherwise, i would be very happy with the Performance, Screen, Camera, Storage and all the other things.

I was pretty close to getting a DTEK50 unlocked from BlackBerry directly, I had my Incipio case and the screen protector all lined up...but in the end did not pull the trigger on the deal. Good price drop on both the device from $429 to $304 Canadian, the case too was $9.99 instead of $19.99...but I just couldn't do it. Not ready to abandon BB10 yet or give up on my Leap.

Plus other deciding factors were, the shaky and continually uncertain future of BlackBerry, I find Android to be a terrible OS and software , even with the BlackBerry tweaks and additions, and Google is just a loathsome company...not as bad as Apple, but pretty close.

Nah...the DTEK50 and DTEK60 seem like nice devices...but not buying either right now...nor anytime soon...

Very Happy for you . I have two friends using DTEK 50 here in Dubai and both share the same view as yours . I am using the Priv . I have no reasons at the moment to switch over to another device at the moment .

I was intrigued by the PRIV since launch but was quite happy with my passport, and because I couldn't justify the price, I never pulled the trigger. I now have the 50, and although the 60 is an all around better phone, the 50 fits my needs right now. We'll see in 2 years if things change and what, if anything, blackberry offers then

I like the '50 for me. Seems rugged enough as well as a good size to carry in ones pocket and not worry about needing a case. My wife is thinking she wants the '60 for the best Camera on a BB/Android slab style device. She always uses a wallet style case.

I know a couple of local businesses here who bought some DTEK 50's because of the security features and they really like the device, even thought the onboard memory is only 16 gig, they tell me thats more then adequate for a corporate device which is mainly used for email and messaging.
