Link only works (barely) with BB10. Content Transfer app is all there is.

You're completely switching platforms, so you have to have realistic expectations on transferring data.

If you check the app's description you will see this:

Content Transfer moves the following data from your BlackBerry 10 device:
    Contacts
    Calendar
    Pictures
    Videos
    Music
    Text messages (SMS) Max 3500
    Notes
    Tasks
    Documents
    Email accounts
--no whatsapp mentioned, so no is the answer.

You can back whatsapp convos within the whatsapp app itself if they are really that important to you

You can only restore it to on a phone with BB10.

Actually, there is an option on the BB10 WhatsApp app to transfer chat history to an Android device.

Although it is noted as "unsupported", it has worked for me the two or three times I've switched from my Passport to my PRIV.

I thought conite made it very clear (I wish I had something more positive to add)
but what part of "realistic expectations" don't you guys understand??

It's in the app's settings menu (provided you have the most up to date version). Check this thread, specifically post #3: http://forums.crackberry.com/ask-que...ackup-1091340/

I'm actually grateful for this complaint. I have a Z30 that needs to be migrated to a DTEK50, and it has WA convos that need to be saved. Sorry that the op is having trouble migrating the Z10. This is why I love O365 - everything comes thru except texts, which the Content Transfer app handled fine.

I seem to be the only one in BB-dom that has never had an issue with Link on any of my BB10 devices starting with a Z10. It backs up and updates with no issues what-so-ever.

    Odd.

There are definitely issues, depending on what you are doing. For most issues, Link works fine on Win10. But if you're syncing contacts from Outlook, it doesn't work well at all.

Since the update for me link is dead, starts to update then hangs on Blackberry runtime

I find the oft maligned Link is actually excellent. I am on Windows 7 and have approximately 7 BlackBerry 10 devices attached to it.

Now when content transfer says 3500 texts max, how does it determine which 3500 if you have more?? Can I maybe transfer 3500 at a time until all of them are transferred?? I'm just curious for when I eventually use an Android as my primary device...

I'm still struggling with this so don't know if i'm doing it right? I leave my old phone intact run content transfer etc with my new phone having my new sd card no sim as its in my old phone "backing up". Using the Gmail method i get told i don't have enough space although checking Gmail i have 15 Gb unused, Same with the other method "There is not enough space on the media card"

I haven't used the Android version of Content Transfer since the Priv launch in 2015, but my results were mixed, mostly because of a huge text message library. I ended just switching to cloud storage for all but texts at that point, using OneDrive and Office 365 so that everything is neatly in one place. It has worked well for me so far, as well as when bouncing around between mobile devices. Just makes things easier.

Finally....after months...I got my hands on a working DTEK50 demo unit...and I'm not really sure what everybody is complaining about regarding this phone?! For me as a Leap user it is the only sensible replacement. For the price it has it packs lot more than other phones a lot more expensive. Once the price goes down or they have another sale...I'm getting it...

I'm not a fan of Android ...and never will be, but what can I do...BB10 is everyday becoming not an option as it keeps folding and shrinking ...and I'd rather have a root canal performed without an anaesthetic than buy anything from Apple or use IOS...LOL.!
