I spent the last couple of hours reading through the threads here...

3 things stick out to me:

-- Business Users like it because its light and snappy (I agree)
-- Battery life is an issue, but is managable
-- A lot of negative posts from folks who really havent been active in the Crackberry forum community

The last one really chaps my *** because after reading through the griping, many are parroting the same thing (troll territory).

I came from a Z30 and BB Classic. I had to patch both to get certain Android apps. With the DTEK50, now I have a fully secure WiFi phone using Hangouts. That saves a lot of money in terms of communication.

I dont see whats all the ******** and kvetching is about?!

    It's a great phone.

Don't forget to change your animation speeds to .5x in development settings.

Plus it's a good idea to clear your app cache and reboot your device about once a week to clear out the cobwebs.

It's a great phone. As far as the battery life goes I really don't have an issue with it .

Bought myself a car charger as soon as I got mine (Aukley). I'm in and out of the car all day so I keep my battery topped up

Go to settings / about and tap on the build number several times. Once enabled, developer settings will appear on your settings screen. Just don't touch anything else in there - just the 3 animation tabs.

What an amazing suggestion! I have applied the same on my PRIV. And it feels like it is on steroids. Thank you.

Why couldn't BB do this sooner... My God, imagine if this was on the Playbook!! (I still have and use my Playbook, it still outclasses a ton of tablets on the market today).

I think far too many people try to compare it to high end devices. For the price point it's an excellent device. I think it was done extremely well and a solid choice.

You're just not waiting for animations to do their things. So makes it snappier, yes.
