Tried a number of file managers until I found ES File Explorer. Copy/cut & paste is way easier in this program. Plus through its network/lan options, you connect to your computer wireless with your username-password-ipaddress. Will execute apps too.

I don't know about Lan, for that I recommend AirDroid if it still works on Marshmallow however for file managing I recommend Zarchiver. It's really good and easy UI. I've been using it for 5 years.

I used Solid for a bit, but I got more comfortable with Asus! It's easy to use and I like the hidden cabinet.

No one mentioned if your app works with your computer without a cord...

Solid Explorer works great. Set up an ftp server on your computer, and you're good to go.

I second Solid, works great, worth getting the full version (you get a 14 day trial).

OP: I'd stay away from ES, not only is it way too intrusive, but you'll start noticing that it messes with the system's overlaying screen feature.

ES Pro doesn't have any messy ads or other lock screen intrusions, but I still prefer Solid Explorer.

I've never tried ES Pro, but after my experience with the free version, I'm not inclined at all to recommend it, but thanks for clearing this for other users. After trying out Solid however, (which was cheaper than ES Pro at the time), there's no going back for me.

Agreed! Asus File Manager is a simple, straightforward and effective file manager without being loaded with features many don't need or want.
