It does look like a beauty. Love how the speakers are audible from both front and back. I'm using the Priv but I could've easily used the DTEK50. I really like the plastic textured back and also the lack of PKB (as I don't really use it much in the Priv). It's a great buy.

I certainly like it better than my PRIV which I was using since last November.

    Pros; (DTEK50)
-Never used PKB on Priv so waste of weight/space
-Front Camera is way better (back is equal to Priv in my opinion)
    -thinner and lighter than Priv
    -screen is brighter
    -just as responsive
-software and security is same as Priv

    Cons:
-LED notification light only in white but not a deal breaker at all (iphone does not have one at all)
-Battery although good just not as good as Priv but with QC 2.0 it charges fast.
-The Night Mode on clock is way too bright in the back screen when set.

You are probably right, but I have read things like that many times in the past for other devices, and sometimes developers have surprised us. Who knows, I guess it has something to do with security and all that. I would say we have to wait...
Never going to happen. A BlackBerry device has NEVER been rooted. BB7, BB10, Android, never going to happen.

I'd say the majority users couldn't care less about rooting any android.

And I'd say you are probably right. If the majority of users would care to have control of their devices, Iphones wouldn't be as popular as they are (and there are many other examples). Still, some of us (yes, I know, a minority) do care.

Sounds like a great challenge for developers (and hackers) out there then, never say never...
