I have downloaded the latest update but it will not load. Short of a factory reset, is there any way of removing the download and starting again?

Look down two threads / July security patch scare. It's happening to everyone but will work out in the end, apparently 😉

Factory reset is most likely unnecessary, just a reboot.

Despite what the error message states, just hold down the power button for a few seconds to cause the phone to reboot.

At the end of the reboot, check Settings | About Phone | Build Number which should be AAM770 dated July 5, 2017.

A Bug Report will likely be generated and if you wish you can save it as an email attachment that you can send to yourself, which you can later send to Blackberry Tech Support for analysis. You will need a case number to do that.

I did it along with others here, and BB Tech Support confirmed the update was successfully installed.

Unfortunately the update installer has issues that created all this disruption and uncertainty among DTEK50 owners.

This worked fine for my Priv but the Dtek50 stubbornly refuses to do anything. I have tried rebooting several times but this doesn't help. Build number still showing AAL135.

If the phone is rebooting to AAL135, I would try downloading the system update again, manually and if/when the error message is presented, hold down the power button until the phone reboots.

If you feel uncomfortable about doing that, your best bet might be to call BB tech support for assistance.

I keep getting update available------restart and install. keeps cycling back to this message. I have rebooted the phone several times including holding the button for a long reset (30 seconds or more). I am going to just forget the security update and hope BB gets their act together and solves this problem. I do not want to do a factory reset

Same. Hoping this changes with August update.
