I unfortunately dropped my dtek 50...anyone take one apart yet for drying purposes? Thinking, if I do, it will increase my chances of it reviving.

Dry it off as much as you can and get it into a bag of rice ASAP. Leave it there for two days. Do not turn it on
Great recipe for "Blackberry Rice"....
Sorry to hear about your mishap, Cindy, and please forgive my perverse sense of humor at your expense..:)

Needless to say don't plug it in either. Most of the time once it's dry, it will start up fine.
However if it won't start, there is a good video on teardown who also does durability testing.

Leave it inside the rice 1-3 weeks. Don't test after 2 days or so
Agree, and the main point is do not try to turn it on.
So I left it in rice since Thursday and it's now Sunday. I tested it today and it just keeps rebooting. Ugh.

Try a hard reset by pressing power button for more than 32 secs.
