What does everybody use the convenience key for? TBH I haven't set mine yet as unsure what to use it for.

    Yup. Any app.

Although I find the swipe up gesture faster anyway.

If only i could make it play and stop music in the music player app "folder player" that I am using then I would be in heaven. For now it just brings the app up.

I second the torch. Does the phone have to be unlocked for the convenience key to work?

I set my key to camera and yes it seems it has to be unlocked.

Would you mind explaining how you did this? That's something I want to be able to do. Coming from a OnePlus X, there is a key which allows me to just silence the phone, kinda like the iPhone sound key.

I wish the convenient key works even when the screen is locked, just like the BB10 app doo. The way it is now, it isn't too convenient.

Go to the config of the convenience key, chose "all shortcuts", scroll down to "device", chose "ring volume" - thats it.
Will work even when your phone is locked, but you need to unlock it, if you want the volume back.

I think I'm the only one that uses it to activate the phone dialler. Not a specific number, but the phone itself.

I don't use the flashlight enough to use it as that, and double pressing the power button brings up the camera. And now I can take that phone icon off the home screen, hopefully eliminating pocket dialling

That's a good idea nuff_said. So can you only set one thing to the convenience key?

you can also find app in App store (for example Home button launcher), not assign it to home button but use this App for convenience key - then you can configure which applications will be available for faster start.
But of course, this is more complicated than only 1 app is dedicated to this key.

There is no bedside mode. Miss that too.
