I prefer to use the old chargers from Z10/Bold than the stock charger for overnight charging. I have been using them to charge my Z30, Passport and DTEK 50.

The Z10 and Z30 chargers are both rated at 850mA while the Dtek50 charger is rated at 2A. I'm still using my Z30 charger simply because I didn't bother changing it when I switched from from my Z30. Not sure what level current the Dtek50 draws but would assume if they provided a 2A stock charger, it could charge faster but legacy chargers still work just fine.

I'm read for dtek50 at many post that the battery is not very God like dtek60. Tomorrow I'll take my new dtek50 and afraid about that.

Takes about two hours to fully charge the DTEK50 from the 10 per cent range using the new charger.

Takes about twice as long using the old Z10 charger.

Its funny to think that I've used my Blackberry Q5 charger will all my phones haha. Even non Blackberry ones. So Yes, using you Z10 charger with your DTEK50 is perfectly fine. It may charge it a little slower but thats fine.

The speed of charge depends on the amp of the charging device. Higher the amp, the faster. I bought 2A USB hubs just for this reason.
