I hate this thing too. If they're going to make parts cheap plastic they definitely shouldn't put cheap paint over it. I got two small peels from my incipio feather case that turned into big peels. Now it looks beat up

It's cheap, tacky, and the chrome paint comes off easily...making it feel/look even cheaper and more beat up.

I like the chrome look to be honest. Granted I've only had the thing for little over a month and it hasn't started to peel off (yet). Perhaps when/if it does I'll get annoyed.

I too hate the "chrome" look. I think it makes it look cheap. Nevertheless, I will be sending it in to Colorware soon, so I will just live with it for now

I don't really notice the chrome because it's usually hidden under a red gel skin. if I was using the little holster that I have, I'd probably spring for the black bezel and battery door.

Last week I tried ripping the painted chrome off using the "tape" method. I couldn't get it to come off no matter how hard I ripped the tape off. I used Scotch tape, packing tape, even Gorilla tape (stickyer than Duck tape) and nothing would take the chrome off. I started to think that maybe mine was not painted but solid plastic chrome until I got a fingernail file and filed some of it off in a non conspicuous place to reveal the back plastic underneath. I don't think the chrome on mine will even wear off, if it does it will be hundred years from now. Why can't I get one where the chrome paint comes off easily?

I don't like it either because sometimes when i look closely at it, i can see small scratches. But most of the time mine is in a gel case so i can't see it anyhow.

I'm going to wait it out until my warranty expires and then i'll put in the black bezel, that way it'll give me motivation to keep it for another year when my contract runs out.
