I've heard different things about UMA. My BB is always on UMA at home because of my wireless internet connection router. Does that mean that all calls made on my BB are free. I know i'm not using any data from my plan but i'm not sure about the voice aspect of it. Any definite answers anybody?

Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA) can be used to make phonecalls if your plan allows it. If you are paying Rogers for the service, then yes, you have unlimited calling under UMA.

Rogers may be special, but I would double check. I have UMA all the time at home as well on TMO. Any calls on UMA are charged against my minutes. The only advantage is better signal and not using the cell network.

Unless you pay for unlimited UMA calling, then it is not free, i.e. your minutes will be deducted against your minute plan.
