I used Any Video Converter to put a feature length movie onto my 8900, and the audio of the video starts to lag behind after about a minute, and gets progressively worse. If I move the progress bar to another point in the film, and play it again, it snaps back into sync, but it keeps getting out of sync after about a minute or so of playing.

I converted it to a resolution of 480 x 201 (which was approximately the right aspect ratio of the source file), used a video bitrate of 128, and 24 frames per second. The audio settings were: acc, 64 bitrate, 11025 sample rate, 2 channels, and Basic A/V sync.

Is there a better setting to convert with (or a better converter), or does the 8900 lag the audio of all videos regardless of size and type of conversion?

    Thank you!

Try a program called XMedia Recode. It has settings just for BlackBerries.

I have a Mac. There is no Mac version.
Installed it on my brother's laptop. Converted a 1 hr show into blackberry format. Works like a charm, video is excellent (no skips) and sound is great.
THANK YOU 3CISSBB For the tip

perhaps you could try setting the size to 480 x360 which is the pixel size of the 8900. are you using MPRG4 codec?

Well the movie is in 16:9 widescreen ratio, so doing 480 x 360 would stretch the video which I don't want to do. Yes I am using the MPRG4 codec.

3CISSBB, have you watched full length feature films on the 8900? If so, does converting them with this program stop the audio lag?

I've converted hundreds of movies and never had any issues. It all depends on the video source. If the original video source is corrupted then converting/reconverting won't solve it.

I've watched the entire original video on my computer, no problems at all. It's only when I convert it and play it on my 8900 that I start getting audio lag. What settings do you use for Xmedia Recode? I mean the bitrate, and other quality specifications.

I use Mobiola Video Studio, the default settings for the 8900 and setting preferences to 4:3 aspect ratio work great with no lag.
