So I have a Pearl 8110, and I have a contract up for renewal, and I really want a new blackberry. I like the GPS, but I don't really need it. WiFi sounds nice. So does a full keyboard. The trackball bothers me because it always feels like its either stuck, or its too slick.

Its a pretty inexpensive upgrade, but I'm not sure if I should go for the 8520, save up even more for the 8900, or wait for something else. What do you guys think?

Since my 1st BB was a 8110, I now have the 8520 and it is much better than the 8110. On the same note, i also have the 8220 flip, and i think it is better than the 8110 and the 8520. But my next and probbly last BB for a loong time is going to be the 9700 from tmobile when it arrives!!

Take a look at the 8520.You'll love the new trackpad. If the 8520 is too low end for you then maybe wait until the Driftwood 9700 is released.I don't know if you are in one of T-Mobile's 3G areas but the 9700 will have 3G as well.

The 8520 is a great upgrade and it won't be very expensive if you extend your contract. You will like the wider screen & full keypad for long emails. It doesn't have GPS but it has a lot more memory than your 8110.

I agree with most posters here. It is a good upgrade for the price but if you are looking for overall value and device longevity, I think you should wait for the 9700 its the best of all the bb's out now IMHO. As an 8520 owner I have to say she is a sweet lil toy but I wish I would have saved my upgrade and got the 9700. Especially since I still ended up paying almost retail for my 8520.
