Hi there- hoping someone out there can figure this one out....I've got a brand new 8330 Curve with Verizon (v.4.3). My annoying issue is that everytime I get a new Voice Mail I'll also get a new SMS message which reads UNHEARD- 1 URGENT-0. Then when I listen to and ultimately delete my voice mail, the sms inbox remains with the unread message. I have to go into the SMS inbox and manually delete the text message. It's totally confusing and unecessary to have this indicator method.
My guess is this is a Verizon issue, not BB. I can't find any menu on the BB to prevent this, and friends with other carriers aren't having this issue with the same phone.
Any ideas??? Thanks everyone!!!

Press the green phone key, then menu/options/call logging/. You have "missed calls" selected, which is the default. Change it to "none."

he is referring to the text you get when you have a voice mail message, not a missed call.

I've been playing around with it and can't find a way to get rid of it neither.

Having a cassette show up is notice enough, I don't need a message sent to me via SMS that I have a voicemail. that's what I think the OP is inquiring about.

You're probably right. If so, I don't know the answer to that one either. I just delete the messages. I've never thought about trying to suppress them, but a few minutes looking at options and googling the site doesn't turn up a solution.

I have the same thing happen on my Sprint 8130. Talked to a sprint rep and they said there is nothing they (on their end) can do about it. I agree this is annoying to receive a voicemail and get a notifier thru SMS. Seems redundant since the little cassette icon is already there.
