    Is this the norm?

    Live runs fine but calls are appaling on the berry, they dont cut out but i can barely hear what the person on the other end is saying...

    Seems pretty pointless, surely it shouldnt require THAT much bandwidth?

    UMA requires quite a bit of bandwidth. Try setting up QOS on your router to give the BB priority on the network.

    That assumes of course he wants the phone to take priority over his Xbox. I know when I'm playing Call of Duty 4 I would rather disable UMA completely on my 8900 and let calls go to VM if there's no reception than get lag and get pwnd by some n00bs.
