I'm planning on picking up a new 8900 but I've been told that after typing a while, your thumbs start hurting? Any truth to this?
Can anyone compare typing on the 8900 to the Bold in terms of comfort and accuracy?

No, my thumbs don't hurt when I type after a while.
Not sure who told you that but I have used all kinds of BB's over the years and sent a ton of texts/emails and my thumbs never hurt. The Bold keypad might be a bit bigger and make it a little easier but I love the 8900.
Not an issue!!!
When i was looking at the 8900 v the Bold, i opted against the 8900 as i figured it would be frustrating with big fingers on the smaller keypad, to the point i would have to type with my nails - that might hurt, but realistically the 8900 is fine. You need not worry.
I have no problem with typing on my 8900. Definitely not an issue for me.

nope, not for me either.. it feels exactly the same as my old 8310. i think its all relative though... my thumbs only hurt when bbm'ing for 5-12 hours or so straight LOL :p
No problems here. This is my first blackberry and I love this keyboard very much!

not a problem at all, the typing on the bold is definitely a little easier because of their size, but my 8900 is perfect, can still type really fast and i dont have tiny fingers....the keyboard is great, id say go to the store and start typing on both of them and see what you think...no soreness at all on the 8900 though
I'm a chronic txt'er and never have my thumbs hurt from typing...hmm

typing on the 8900 can have a little pressure on the thumbs becaus of the rounded keys compared to the bolds' KB.
but as most people here said, its fine.
No problems here. It's funny because I see people complaining about the 8900 keyboard and how they like the Bold. I'm just the opposite. After playing around with the Bold and Tour, I prefer the 8900.
I have not tried the Tour keyboard yet but I'm with you on preferring the 8900 keyboard to the Bold keyboard.
No problems here either. I prefer the keys a little more spaced out, unlike the bold and others where all the keys are adjacent to each other.

I hav e th e bighest, fatesst fingerts iim the world amd I have no probs. Seriously, I thought that I would have problems with the 8900's small keyboard but after a few weeks of use, I can type just fine with my giant sausage fingers. You should have no troubles at all.
I love the curves keypad... Perfect si2 and I have large hands too boot. Now typing on my old razr used too hurt after a while

My thumbs don't hurt either. I have nails and it's a little bit challenging when typing in #'s but not a biggie - you get used to it. It's pretty comfortable.
Im always texting or emailing and my thumbs never hurt so i would say no this isnt true... :)
The 8900 has a great keyboard and actually takes less pressure on the keys than my 8310. Having said that the Bold has a great keyboard and is easier to type on...for me at least ;)

No typing problems here. I've sent a number of emails this morning and it hasn't been uncomfortable at all.

I do find it a pain sometimes. Fat fingers aren't a problem but my thumbs are quite long so if they are too bent when typing they do ache after a bit. Had the same problem on my PSP and older phnes too though
No problems here as well. Compare to Bold keyboard and I still perfer 8900 keyboard

No problems from typing.... sometimes from using the trackball a lot....
I used the tour and I do prefer the spacing on the 8900 keys!
Not an issue for me. I have I went from the 8820 to the 8900 without a problem. And I have big hands. So i don't know where that information could have came from, but maybe they just have arthritis or something.
