    I guess it 'should' be stationery and silent, but with RIM's legendary QC standards...

    Mine moves slightly, and clicks sometimes.

    My trackpad moves a little bit, perhaps 0,3mm and makes just low noises - I think it's normally.

    My trackpad doesnt budge and seems pretty stationary. only movement on it is when i push to click. I took the scroll clicking sound off as it started to bug me a bit.

    But all is well with my trackpad.

    I take it you guys with the stationary/silent trackpads have 8520's made in Canada?

    We always get the cheap 'Made in Mexico' tat here in the UK
