one day with the curve 8900 thru at&t! I went running back to the bold I missed 3g and the 8900 is a really bad phone
I thought the 8900 was only on T-Mobile....also what was so bad about it?

Also curious, what's so bad about the 8900

Some people (like me) prefer the Bold over the 8900 because of:
- larger, quieter, and more ergonomic keyboard
- Bold's styling (faux leather back cover etc.)
- 3G
- larger screen (even though the resolution is slightly less than the 8900)
- faster CPU
at the end of the day the Bold is a higher end device. this doesn't mean the 8900 is bad, it is brilliant for its category.
Really? A really bad phone huh? Explain the reasoning for this. Using examples not takin from the other post I quoted.
Larger quieter? The keys are more crammed on the bold. My keypad doesn't make noise on my 8900.
Bolds style? It's huge and the leather back does nothing more than provide a look.
Larger screen? I would rather have a tiny, tiny bit smaller with a better res.
My 8900 doesn't seem to be slow in the cpu area. I bet that bold doesn't run to much faster. I will take more memory over a slightly non noticeable cpu.
Just because the you prefer the 9000 or the 8900 does mean the 8900 is a 'bad phone'. I preferred the 8900 to the 9000 does that make the 9000 a 'bad phone'? I'm also curious as to why the 8900 is a 'bad phone'.........
Point is both are the best BB on the market right now...
That's why I said "some people". Both phones are great and both have pros and cons, it's just a matter of personal preference.
I love my precious BoLd, last week i tried my friend's'8900 and the difference between the both is not a big deal.(My opinion)

It's on at&t as well.
BlackBerry® Curve(TM) 8900 Cell Phone - | Wireless from AT&T, formerly Cingular
3G made a difference for me as well. I love the bigger screen and larger device in general. The 8900 was too small.
The 8900 is definitely not a bad phone. Although I believe the Bold is the best BB on the market until the Onyx (CX said this also), that does not mean the 8900 is bad. It has different features for different people.
The built quality on my 8900 is bad, my keypad and battery door are loose. I would switch to the 9000, just for that.
I prefer the 8900 over 9000. If 3G was in my area (it is an hour away from where I live, though), then I would have gotten the 9000. I am still considering going to the Bold though.
Boils down to the user. I would have purchased either. Turns out the bold was the only offering. Still think o may buy an 8900.
Geez-how many post are going to argue what's better?

I believe the Bold has more built in memory as well.
They are in 2 different catagories. The curve is a more consumer base phone and the bold (like the 88XX series) is a more business phone.. I love my bold but I alson like the look of the 8900
Next time you post, maybe you should leave a reason. Then you wouldn't get so much criticizism. Maybe you got a piece of crap phone, maybe it was just wasn't the phone for you.
well i made the switch and left the bold and went to the 8900 and boy did i notice a change, the service on the bold is a lot better than the 8900, that is the only downfall tom the 8900. Everything else is about the same or better on the 8900 side if the 8900 had 3G IMO It would be a better phone. just my 2%
