    Pull the battery.

    Leave it out for 30 seconds, reinsert and power up.

    Then what's a soft reset? I always thought it was a battery pull while a hard reset was a wipe?

    A soft reset is when you hold down the power button on your device to restart it.

    Doesn't hard-reset usually imply returning to factory defaults?
    I think yanking the battery does not do that.
