Ok , let me start off saying I have no bias towards the iphone at all.

now, I was out for a drive to see a friend in the country a few days ago
and well I decided to bring along the Iphone 3GS I figured in the country
have a bit more kick with 3G power will pull a signal better than not

I got out there, not thinking about it, I had the phone on the charger the
whole time, in the car and I went to ring my friend - that I had just arrived
and well would you know it - *** NO SERVICE *** not even SOS Dead nothing
zilch! WOW I was blown away how could there be nothing. I know the area is
remote and everything but zero ? wow

So today I had to goto the same place, this time I had my BlackBerry 8900
in the car and like normal it was on the charger the whole way. I was just
dropping off my friend this time not pick up, so when I got there I dropped
them off and for kicks took a look at my phone

    well ! 3 Bars !!!! and 4 messages waiting

Wholly Cow I almost screamed BlackBerry 8900 with no 3G
capability OWNED the Iphone 3GS Flat out wow!

This is why I went with an 8900. I'm going to use my network when I'm traveling and going between larger metro areas are huge areas of no 3g service. I know that you swith to edge when 3g drops but I'd be paying more for a phone that I wouldn't be getting full capability.

I have realized that blackberry phones are the best out IMO.I have never owned a iphone. So i cant knock them. But my brother has one and he keeps telling me he is going to switch phones and get a blackberry. So that has to count for something. But if i cant own a blackberry i rather not have a cell phone.I have owned two blackberries so far and they have always pleased me.BLACKBERRY 4 LIFE!!!!!!!!

My g/f has an iphone. She switched from a 8330 to the iphone but after our weekend at the coast and it failing on her the second time she called and told them if this one doesn't work she's going back to blackberry. Loves the iphone but it's just not reliable.

I'd say that's more a review of the carrier than the handset, no? Unless both are on the same carrier.
iphone has a slick UI, RIM can learn from it, but the iphone has much to learn from RIM in being a true messaging platform. Just one small point...

Rogers is the only carrier up here that carries the 8900 and the iPhone.
