bought a new blackberry recently and started receiving messages addressed to [email protected] and oddly its got nothing to do with me, and hasnt been added to my phone!
My phone has only my hotmial and gmail accounts and neither one have these spammed messages within the inbox or spam folder.. ?
Has anyone encountered these issues before, and more important how did you resolve it.

Are you sure its new and not a refurb? Your BIS/IMEI is still tied to someone elses account. I forget what the fix is for this. Its common.

I think I'd start with Registering your device again with your provider: Options / Advanced Options / Host Routing Table / Menu / Register Now

Then log into your provider's website and resend your Service Books... if you are not sure how or where your provider's website is you should call them and ask for a Blackberry rep, then have them resend your Service Books.
