With nothing but gut feelings to base this one, i'd say calls and DC, yes, emails ...no.

Emails with BB are a push service of RIM.

over the past weekend i had put bodyguardz on my BB, so i did what you want to do...

the 880 would not read the address book in the sim. i was able to call, receive calls, and text... email, no clue.

Well, I bought my 8350i unlocked. I had the 7100i beforehand and I decided to do it the ol' fashion Mexican way. I switched the SIM Card into my brand new Nextel Device and it worked (much better than the phone before if I may add)

well not everyone has an updated sim that is compatible! the sim issue is only an issue when you dont have a certain plan connected to the chip and having a blackberry chip is really all you needed!

Mine worked fine also, but in order for me to get the rebate I had to activate AND use the new SIM that came with the Curve. No biggie. I had all my contacts on BB desktop anyway.

It was advertised to just be a quick sim swap from the 7100i.
