    Ok folks, just got my Blackberry 8830 curve and am pulling my hair out trying to figure it all out. Sorry, but i really need help with setting a ringer for text messages different than the ringer from voice calls.

    Under your profiles look for SMS change it in there

    Profiles > Advanced > Active Profile > SMS Text to change the text message ringer.

    The notification sound for text messages and voicemail will be the same, there is no way to make them two seperate alerts.
