I searched for this but can not find it. My girlfriend has the 8310 and we can't figure out how to set one of her keyboard keys to lock the phone. I have the Bold and the "A" key locks my phone.

Its been a lonf time since I have had a curve, us her 8310's OS current? Can't you just hist *and then the phone button?

You can set one of the side convenience keys to Keyboard Lock. Options, Screen/Keyboard, Side Convenience keys. Save.

You can also look for an app called autolock or autostandby.

or if you turn off dialing from home screen, u can press k i believe

All of the above will work. If you don't want to change any side keys or turn your home screen dialing off, I believe you can set the delay under security options to a shorter time (ie: 10 minutes.) So the phone will "auto lock" when not in use.

The mute button puts the phone in standby which prevents your pocket or purse from calling ppl. I use it all the time!
