Hi Everybody,

Forgive me for the newb question, but I'm new to the BB scene. Rightnow, I have my gmail assigned to my BB. When I receive SMS text messages, it lumps it in with my emails, and I get a "new message" icon in both the messages app and the email app. But for the SMS I get the "new message" icon for just the messages app.

Is it possible to seperate the two? Maybe have my email notifications only occur in the email app, and the SMS text messages new message icon on occur with the messages app? Does this make sense?

Maybe I need to install a unique app for just SMS text messages?

Message icon shows ALL messages. To seperate go to messages > options > General Options > SMS/Inbox > Seperate

you can go to messages>options>general options> SMS and EMAIL inboxes = seperate

This will give you an SMS/MMS icon. I hid my messages icon afterwards in a folder and now just use the SMS.MMS and my email icons.
