They seem very similar in size and weight. Nokia is known for making pretty solid stuff. I don't think you would have been disappointed with either unless you are already a blackberry owner. I couldn't see myself owning something other than a blackberry now that I have one.

i owned the E71 for a day ( i bought it simply because i got a awesome deal and was going to sell it anyways )
I played with it for a little while ( yeah i know, thats what she said )
Anyways, the keypad is really cramped on the E71 as compared to the 8900. Thats one thing i noticed.
The OS that is on the E71 ( i forgot which one it is ) just was not exciting what so ever to me also, just rather boring.
One HUGE HUGE thing that i did love about the E71 was the stainless steel body and battery cover...Oh man!!! after seeing that i wonder why in gods name do company's continue with the cheap plastic! it looked so nice and felt so solid!
What E71?
S60?
I've had two S40s and an S60
there is never anything innovative or new with the OS.
Even the latest Xpress is an iteration of the S60 platform.
This is what drove me away from my love of Nokia.
You'll get bored of it.
Mind you, I've only had my curve since Saturday so i'm still excited on the new-aspect. Either way I can't get it out of my hands.
