i wanted to put a yellow trackball in my 8350i. are the replacement curve trackballs universal?
also got a blackberry h655 bluetooth set but the ear gels are not a match for me. i would like the ear buds that go into the ear itself, any suggestions where to get these item would be helpful.
I got a yellow ball from cnn.cn and it was very difficult to make the cursor move. I then ordered an OEM trackball rom cnn.cn and it's the best ball ever.
It is a PAIN to take the case apart. The 2nd time I used a very small precision flathead screwdriver and GENTLY pulled the yellow ring ourt from the front. Either way, I broke a pin off the yellow ring.

Next time someone tears their 8350 apart for trackball replacement... TAKE PICS...! Been looking forever for interior views of the PITA clips that hold the ring around the trackball solely for 8350.

check out you tube, they have the breakdowns there
I've had good luck on the 8330 removing the trackball bezel without opening the device. there are three clips on the bezel, left, right, and bottom, if you use a thin tool to gently pry the bezel ring at the top and slowly, gently work your way around the ring, you should be able to pop it out without breaking any clips. My question for everyone is, has anyone had problems with these colored trackballs not rolling as well as the original? I replaced the chrome ring on mine with an all black ring, and as my curve is red, I'd like to replace it with a red trackball, but the trackball I got doesn't roll well at all.
i would like to order a black bezel and ball.... all stealthy like!
as for removing the ring, the 8350's dont "clip" in, there are pins that have to be removed first. if you try and pop the ring out without removing the pins you break the ring.

the yellow trackball i installed works perfectly. the only prob is that the lighting seems to be more intense from the right side of the ball than the left.

Ah, that explains it, must be rather annoying to have to take apart the whole housing just to get at the trackball though...
I just tried to clean my trackball on my 8350i and needless to say I didn't read this tread first. I thought it would be the same as my wifes 8330 but its not. My question is... Do they make a replacement ring for the 8350i??? Thanks.
