So today, I saw a sweet refurbished baby blue 8330 for boost.

Is that a good deal, refurbished? or something to steer clear of?

Refurbishing usually entails stripping down, cleaning, testing, and re-housing a used device. It is the same process Asurion uses to repair defective or damaged devices to sent as a replacement whenever a device needs to be replaced by insurance, for whatever reason. If there is a guarantee, the odds are fair it could be a serviceable device.

I have purchased refurbished phones in the past, from a local retailer, and they've worked just fine.

I've bought 2 "flashed" BBs from eBaY w/terrible results . I ended up going to the retailer & buying a new 8330 ( w/glowing results ).I realize it's not the same thing, My point ? You get what you paid for doesn't apply anymore , go for the warranty or get phone insurance !!

I couldn't agree more with tye dye
Refurb phone looks nice, but what appear on the outside doesn't reflect what's inside.. If u want to get 2nd hand BB, try to buy it from direct person, so u can 'guess' the condition of the BB u will buy..
One advice, buying refurb phone is like gambling.. u can't always win..

    Be wary of ebay sales.
