When I receive a message, the screen doesn't light up like regular phones that I have used in the past do. I have to press a button, then navigate to my message area to read the message.

Is there a way to have the BlackBerry light up and show a notification on the screen when I receive a message, and be able to read it right then instead of having to navigate to the message app?

The only way to make this happen would be with an app.

it won't show notification but if you use a holster, then it will pop up if you pull it out within like 10 minutes
