I am going to the Dominican Republic in 2 weeks. I have a bb curve 8330. Here are a few questions that I have. It is through verizon.

1. Will my blackberry be able to place and receive calls?

2a. Will the internet work?

2b. If the internet works, will i be charged international rates?

3. Is it better to just get a pre paid phone and take it with me?

Im not with Verizon, so to ensure you get the most accurate information, I would tell you to call your provider. But if my informations is correct, then yes you will be able to make calls and browse the web, and YES youwill be roaming and using another carrier service so international rates will apply.
