I've been reading the how to free up memory on your BB tutorial and it mentions that a backup of the OS should be done. I've had my BB for 2 months now and I wanted to make sure that none of my data will be erased if I do the backup. I would appreciate if anybody answered my question before I go ahead and do the backup.

You wont loose anything during the backup.
