Sorry, my question may be stupid :-)...

Everytime I upgrade my 8900, apps seem to be reset to default. I have to manually configure Google sync, Facebook, Gmail, Live Messenger, Google Talk, etc. App World is still there but "My World" is empty (though apps are archived on the SD card). When I try to "connect" to my account, Paypal says the service is unavailable ("try again later"). It never worked but I can buy apps using my Paypal account.

Is it normal or is there something wrong with the way I upgrade my device ? The most annoying thing is Facebook, resetting all notifications to default inside the web version (I set Facebook to email me when I get messages or friends requests ony... but the BB App seems to mess up all notification configs).

Why do I have to manually config all apps after an ugrade ?

I hope my request / question is clear :-)

You need to backup your 3rd party applications separately. Here is a link to the procedure:

Thanks ! Will settings (login, passw, etc.) be kept after an upgrade ?

It depends on the app, so unfortunately there is no good answer for this. You won't get everything with the backup but most things are backed up with the process.
