    Ok i am new to the whole bb thing but i have been tryin for close to 3 hours to get it to take. I have downloaded it, installed it on my pc but i can not get it to show up anywhere so i can put it on my bb. i did delete the vendor .xml file. please help. I have read through these boards all day but nothing

    If you cant get DM to start,

    Go to your c drive, common files, research in motion, app loader, and click the loader icon, the one that looks like a lil cell phone thing, and it should force the start.

    Also, make sure you downloaded the right OS for your device. If you downloaded the 8330 OS it won't load no matter what you do.

    its all good but when i get to app loader wizard sreen all that is there is 3rd party apps. nothing else

    no no, on your PC, that the actual file is installed.. c drive, programs etc, where you see what all is installed on your computer.

    no idea i am lost rachel. maybe i need to start over. i dl'd the update and im pretty sure i installed it right but i cant find it anywhere. is this update good enough and worth it to mess with all of this

    Easier to look in Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs. See if you have multiple copies of Blackberry Device Software installed on your PC. If you do, uninstall the older OS and leave just the one you are trying to install.
