I have my BlackBerry connected to my computer. It says, "Your BlackBerry device will be updated to include the following software: Help & Documents to Go" When I click Next, it seems to be updating, BUT then I get this error message:

"A fatal error has occurred while updating your device's software. Please try again."

I'm confused...
I have a gazillion more questions, but I'll start with that. LoL

I seem to have the same problem with my storm. I cant load any applications after the fact and after loading os's on. it fails restoring the databases. except when its done with the error my storm isnt recognized anymore by the computer at all till i restart it or the storm. and it happens every time i try no matter what gets restarted. so rebooting his computer probably wont help. I even cleared all the caches like my friend told me to on mine

Make sure you have a backup and a 3rd party backup:

Then do a wipe with JL Commander:

Reload the OS. When you go to Restore your BB, don't use the regular restore function. Use Backup/Restore Advanced and only restore the necessary databases like messages, address book, etc. Keep them to a bare minimum because you don't want to restore whatever is causing the problem in your set-up.
