07-18-08 03:22 PMLike 0 - I'm back. My IT dept said it couldn't be done but I found an article at blackberry.com titled "Integrate a Microsoft Outlook Web Access email account with a Blackberry Internet Service account". It walks you through the step by step process of setting it up. It worked the first time I tried it. The article number is KB03133. I hope this helps.07-18-08 07:00 PMLike 0
- sub means subdomain. >>> means owa is the subdomain part. I'm not sure if https://owa.compant.com/owa would do you any good or not.
I logged into my webmail again and I have an about link on the left and when clicked my version of OWA is displayed.
Outlook Web Access version: 8.0.752.0
did you try just https://owa.company.com but using domain\username when it asked for your username?07-18-08 07:35 PMLike 0 - 07-18-08 07:36 PMLike 0
- What was working and is supposed to work is:
https: //owa.company.com/exchange
with domain\username sepcified.
I've tried these variations:
https: //owa.company.com/owa
https: //owa.company.com
I've tried it without the 's' although I know that the non-SSL site redirects to the SSL site.
I've tried it both with and without the domain specified.
As I said, it was working until we applied the last set of Exchange security patches.07-18-08 08:07 PMLike 0 - So I was able to set it up and I was wondering exactly how it works.
I sent myself a test message and it seems to take 3 or so minutes to alert me on my blackberry that I have an email. It shows up within 10 seconds when i'm looking at my OWA on my computer.
This is not a huge deal since it is my work email and I only want this set up to use when i'm playing hooky.07-21-08 08:42 AMLike 0 - It can be done, my company doesnt want to support the BB ( I dont understand why not, its better than their WMO devices that my boss is always cussing at! lol! )
My company was on Exchange 2003 (still) and I was able to set up my OWA access on my BIS. They did switch to 2007 recently and its all good still!
When going to configure make sure you select the option "I will provide the settings to add this email account"
You should try the link that you use to log on via the web "https://owa.company.com " then the name of your email account which is most likely the first part of your email address, the username will be just in the format of domain\username (what you use to log on when accessing OWA)07-21-08 08:44 AMLike 0 - Also check to see if when you type in the address to access OWA it redirects to another URL. This is what happens with my company.
I type in "http://mail.Company.com"
Then it redirects me to some long URL but I found "https://mail.company.com/Exchange" buried in the URL.
So i used that07-21-08 10:34 AMLike 0 - My company uses https ://webmail.company.com/exchange
That is what I have in the Email Server on the Advanced Settings page. The Email account on the same page is just my username (no @domain at all).
On the General Settings page, both the Mailbox Name and Reply To boxes are the same.07-21-08 02:59 PMLike 0 - aarmento, I had the same problems you are having, but I figured out (without any help from my IT department at work) that I was not able to get my OWA over my BIS because my passwords on my PC at work were not synced. Make sure that your windows password is the same as your work domain/email/work network password. I am not sure what they call it but the IT guys where I work refer to it as our Novel password. I think Novel is the name brand of our server, but I'm not sure. Anyway once I made my Novel and windows passwords the same I was able to set up my OWA account with no peoblems. Well I had to try 2 different mailbox names before I got the correct on but you know about that already as you have tried that from what I can tell from reading this therad. I hope this helps.07-24-08 08:13 PMLike 0
