I currently do not have a data plan on my Curve. Is it possible to get someone with a data plan to pop a sim card into my phone and d/l Opera Mini, and then would I be able to browse with Opera on wi-fi? Or does it completely not work with a wi-fi connection?

Opera mini does not work without a data plan you could use that persons sim but opera mini would not work. Opera mini uses your providers apn settings and uses the data.
