I recently switched carriers so I had to set up my email on the 8900 again.

Once I started using my gmail account again, I noticed that the emails I open up on the BB get marked as 'read' on my actual gmail account.

I didn't install the Gmail plugin even.

I don't mind it particularly but it just threw me off. Has this been happening to anyone?

Yes, it's normal... some people recently have been complaining because it does not do it the other way (read it online and show it as marked on their device )... but anyways, it is normal... don't worry about it.

yea if it did it the other way i think it would be perfect. Is that only for gmail or other mail clients as well, where if you read it online it it gets marked online

It's not just Gmail... every other email system works the same way.
