    I have a new 8300 - when I receive new emails I do not hear tones. I think it may have something to with profiles. I have set up the profile to sound a tone but it does not work.

    Make sure you set the tone correctly both IN and OUT of holster, no muting, etc., and that you are using the Profile you edited. Check, here...
