Hello! Yesterday my blackberry's battery died, and when I finally got it charged and turned it on, it booted fine, but after about 5 hours I still just have an x1 signal. Anyone know what's up? I've had this issue before and they told me that I would have to reformat my blackberry, but I really don't want to have to do that again (I shouldn't have to...). On a Verizon 8330 here.
If you are getting a 1x and not 1X and the battery reset and service book resend does not resolve it, then a wipe is in order. I had to this with about 5 devies last week. If this continues I would recommend a DMU key reset. This is an authentication issue and only the carrier can do this for you.
