    Is anyone having issues sending and receiving text messages this am. Everything works other then that. Sometimes the message will send, sometimes it wont. The rest of data works, internet, bbm, im. I dont feel like calling sprint i seem to get quite aggrevated everytime i do.

    they know there is an issue.... the NE and SE are last to get an update. they are in the process of working on it now. it has something to do with the servers that handle the text messaging.

    i have been in email the last few weeks with them tring to find the cause, they think they found it. we shall see. i know fla is getting an update tonight, as for you guys (im waiting for rohdawg to chime in) i dont know when your update is coming.... but it will be soon

    yeah i had an issue last week with my data everything was done for like 5 hours, someone was suppose to call me back and never did.....not that im trying to complain....but im paying money for this thing it theres some issue with the server like everyweek...i lose my data...texts etc.

    well everytime i cant send a text or "not yet retrieved" or late messages coming in.... i email a guy that is a developer for the text message side of sprint... EVERYTIME!!!

    Already been done. Per Casper they are working on the issue but for the "want it now" people no matter how fast it gets fixed it will not be quick enough.

    here are 2 emails that i got from my contact yesterday about the text messaging issues.....

    Thank you for sharing the additional data. We have been making several changes on the core data network geographically to relieve congestion that has been affecting the ability of handsets to consistently communicate with our messaging infrastructure. We have several probes (wireless devices continually sending and receiving messages) in your area and they are showing much improved performance overall. We have additional core data network changes scheduled for tomorrow night (Early Friday morning) for the Florida area that should further alleviate the issues you have experienced.
    From what you describe below I am wondering if you aren't experiencing a different issue than you have before.
    Did you happen to make a voice call after you sent your text? Because you can't make a voice call and have a data session at the same time, if a message is received in our network and we attempt to deliver the message to you while you are on a voice call the message goes into retry mode. After the first couple of attempts the time between retries is increased causing the delay you describe. This is an inherent issue with MMS. When you power cycled your phone, it automatically polls the network for messages which is why you received the two messages when you did.
    In order to improve the overall experience we need to make the retry timers more aggressive. To this point we had been constrained by capacity in the messaging infrastructure. We believe that is now under control and will be working to make changes to those timers later this month.
    In case this isn't what you experienced, I will have data pulled from your area to see if there were any events that may have occurred that would explain as well.

    We have capacity constraints pretty much nationwide on the core data network serving our iDEN network. We have been working to alleviate that capacity region by region. Unfortunately, the Northeast and Southeast have yet to be completely upgraded. We are seeing much improved performance in the Florida area, but expect increased performance after our upgrade tomorrow night.
    I know we there are upgrades planned for the Northeast, but I don't have exact dates as of yet.

    I'm having the same problem yet again all morning, haven't been able to receive texts, but now I get, "Could not retrieve message content" and of course I'm in the Northeast.

    Omg texting is really messed up right now. Can't send. Receive sum with no message and retreiving keeps message blank. Its nice they gave us unlimited calls but please fix the text issues.

    Don't worry about calling Sprint. Their computers are having issues as well. 45 minute call to get a 3 minute question on billing answered due to their computers going down.

    here is an email i got this morning....

    There was indeed an outage associated with Blackberry internet services, which would have impacted your text messaging as well as any other data service you tried to use. Research in Motion is investigating the root cause of their outage now.

    i dont think so. TELUS was supposed to have an update today.... also RIM did do a BIS update yesterday. so it does kinda fit.

    well the update on TELUS, which is Canadas nextel, is getting text messaging. if there was an issue when RIM released the the update to the system it could effect all of the IDEN net work.

    there is NO nextel OS update. the only OS update that is supposed to be released today is for telus. the SYSTEM update is supposed to happen tonight, for the FLA region only.
