if i install .152 would i have just a blank os? like will i not get my tmobile features and have to install tmobiles service books as if it was unlocked like i do on my storm? can anyone confirm if they have myfaves tzones and all the right tmobile configs with 152 and also im only interested in the "loud ringtones" so can anyone tell me which file they think it is so i can just keep my lovely 114
During the loading process, my PC automatically saved my settings and third party applications - it then installed the OS, and then restored all my own stuff (including messages, emails etc). I did find that Facebook and MSN needed to be reminded of my password though.
I have .152 fractory installed. I got Youtube to work on WIFI by putting it's IP in the DMZ on my router. Otherwise on EDGE Youtube Works fine. With both enabled it also works once the ip is put in the DMZ.

My battery life improved when upgrading from .114 to .133, but I didn't notice much of a difference between .133 and .152. Then again, I just bought my BB a few weeks ago, and with a few complete recharge-discharge cycles my battery life increased significantly. Who knows if the OS upgrade actually did anything at all.
I use my phone often, so I still have to charge it daily, even with the OS upgrades. I'm running the .152/.133 hybrid, which is incredibly stable, although I've noticed that when disconnecting from a UMA call the phone immediately drops into EDGE for a few minutes. This didn't happen with .133.
Having used .114, .133, .152, and the hybrid, I recommend sticking with .133 to retain functionality and stability until the next release.
I'm a newbie at this, what happens when you install this new OS? I'm just wondering if I should even attempt it, If im not really sure what I'm doing. I dont want to mess up my phone.

The releases are official (apart from the hybrid one), so you should be OK.
But if you are nervous, don't bother.....
Personally, I like to have the most up to date software (with the assumption that any previous issues have been fixed).
However, I added the .133 radio after hearing that streaming media might not work on .152.
That said, it would seem that some people haven't seen an issue with youtube etc on .152
I've been running .152 with the .133 radio for about a week now and its super stable. EDGE will not come back after switching to my UMA (wifi) at home. But this only happens if i try to switch it back and forth, if i leave the area where the wifi is (with my Connection Preference in Mobile network Options set to WiFi Preferred) then it usual switches itself back to EDGE without an issue. in the last week it only caused me an issue once and a quick BP seems like the easiest solution to that particular issue. The radio on this hybrid is fantastic. I live in toronto and at most subway stations i still have 2-3 bars of signal on the platforms while im waiting for my train. The battery life is better, I find it depends on if you leave google maps running, when i do my batt seems to drain much more quickly, another thing i noticed is if your in a car (with some one else driving, of course) with GM running that takes a huge toll on you battery.
Over all its a sweet OS, can't wait for the next one I get to play with.
If you don't want any hassles, stick with .133. It is a very stable OS, and most people won't have any issues running it. If you like fiddling around with your OS, and have time to spend on it, then by all means install a hybrid .152. But, in my opinion, whatever advantages .152 seems to bring (along with the additional bugs -- primarily radio (bigger issue) and youtube (smaller issue) for most users), it isn't worth the risk of screwing up while trying to do a hybrid installation.
guys... did anyone experienced the same thing with me, or is it just me ?
since i upgraded my 8900 to hybrid 152/133, my individual email icons never shows up its 'red stars' (indicating a new email has arrived) anymore. Rather than showing up the red stars at the individual email icons, the red star showed up at messages icon only.
I liked it better if the new message indicator could be shown up at each individual email icons, so I could know which email have received new messages.
How to overcome this ?
