This WILL NOT work on a regular 8330 device. Only a 8330m.

For install instruction to load any carrier 8330m OS on your BB:

    1. Back up data on Desktop Manager under Back up/restore option
    2. Back up your 3rd party apps. Instructions here--> http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/how-...cations-53201/
    3. Disconnect your BB from Desktop Manager
    4. Download desired OS to your PC
    5. Install/run OS to PC
    6. Delete vendor.xml file. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
    7. Connect BB to Desktop Manager and it should prompt the upgrade. If not click app loader and that should initialize it.
    8. Do not unplug BB during the process. It will take around 30-60 minutes to complete upgrade.

What you mean major? It's an official release.

sorry for the confusion, i meant 'major' as in a new feature or some sort, not 'major' as in official.

    taken from Raja_3012

    X.Y.Z.AAA

X - gets incremented if there is a design/architecture level change.
Y - gets incremented if new functionality is added on the same design.
Z - gets incremented if there are user interface/XML/property level changes
AAA - Bug fixes on the previous release

so i guess its just fixes.

From what I have heard it is most likely your carrier not your phone.

Just wondering here.. but if there is no signal loss and I am still connected to the bis how could the carrier be the problem? Seems more like a bis problem or the phone?

I think the platforms may be different because the 4.5.0.131 wouldnt update on my 8330m.

I'm guessing this doesn't differ from the .131 update? Just for the 8330m?
