I was disagreeing that having an MEID means you have a 8330m - it doesn't necessarily mean that from everything I read.

Yes, on Verizon, there are no 8330m devices that I am aware of, even though they are going to MEID on the newer devices.

On Sprint, the MEID phones seem to be designated 8330m.

Is it true that running the OS 4.5.0.160 limits you to being able to only use an 8 gig media card? I was reading somewhere that 4.5.0.200 OS systems would accept 16 gig card and fully use it. Did I read this right? And if so is the .160 OS the newest for the 8330 curve?

I installed the 4.5.0.77 and love it but I'm having issues with my mp3 adapter in my car now... It plays music but I cannot make phone calls while it is hooked up and hear the sound through my speakers.

Has anyone found out how true this is?

    Nevermind....this answered my question

BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.0 Up to 2GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1 Up to 4GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2 Up to 4GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.3.0 Up to 8GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.5.0 Up to 8GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.5.0.81 and Up Up to 16GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.6.0 and later Up to 32GB

So I take it I can use all of the 16 gig card!

But I would still like to know if the 4.5.0.160 is the latest platform.
    Thank you.

    OS UPDATED

Only gripe so far is that when I press the trackball to wake it up from idle, it actually lags in the screen turning on.

    Anyone else notice this?

You have an 8900, this OS is not for your device.

I'm using Alltel's packaged .160 and so far so good. I loaded it a few days ago, when I reactivated my Curve, and so far no lockups, data issues or any other issues.

I'm pretty happy with it so far.

I ran the .160 OS for a few days, but the squelch on all my calls got irritating. I did the hybrid OS that is detailed around page 21 of this thread. All issues gone after doing it. Its simple to do and doesn't take a long time. Definitely worth it if you have .160 issues

Im not sure if these problems are related to the OS upgrade or something else but I didnt notice this problem until after the upgrade. I am constantly having to reset my phone because I stop receiving emails or msgs from blackberry messenger. After reset then everything starts working again and I get the backlog of emails/msgs. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated! If this is the problem, is there a way to go back to previous OS version?

on 4.5.0.160 after a few days if I switch to silent mode and then switch back to normal or any other mode for that matter the phone will not ring or have tone, until I restart it.

Is anyone else having this issue, and if so is there any way to resolve it?

Yes, the profiles crash is a common bug in this OS.

This might have something to do with the Profiles not sticking, which is a problem with this OS.

You can fix this issue by using the .160/.131 hybrid by blackngray70. You already have .160 loaded on your computer, so it will just be a few steps to put some .131 files into your OS and reload to your BB.

The hybrid is in the Beta OS and Hybrid discussion forum, here:

Did you remove VAD (Voice Activated Dialing)?

Well you must have anyway that is why you have no About screen.

You can move the VAD files back to the Java folder and reinstall it or you can access the same info that's in the about screen by pressing ALT+left shift+H.
