How do i close applications on the curve 8530? When i hold down the blackberry button the running apps pop up like browser and camera but how do i close them?
Use the end (symbol of red phone) key.
That doesn't totally close the apps. Click the menu key (no hold), and scroll down to close. And some apps, like the app world, you have to back out until the home screen. When you hold the menu button, or switch applications, you go between them and never close them. And the red end button just sends them to the background, like minimizing them.

Nothing is working to close apps, I just ran pandora and i couldnt close it no matter what i did. I had to take the battery out just to make it stop. Also i cant sent sms messages because of error 97 and its pissing me off. I just switched to sprint today and this phone is not even a day old. Also my signal keeps going from 3 bars to no bars then sometimes to 5 bars back to no bars.... I think i got a bad phone.
First off, welcome to the forums! :)
Secondly, take a breather. :)
Thirdly - lets try and help you out. Pandora is one of the few apps that is made to constantly run, until your select Exit Pandora/Shutdown Pandora. You can click close, but it will not fully shut down the program, due to the fact that most people who use Pandora run it in the background while using their phone. Try clicking Shutdown Pandora next time, and I think you will like the results. :p
To me it sounds like Sprint didn't fully setup your phone. For both your signal and SMS problem do 2 things for me. 1, go to Options>Mobile Network>hit the Blackberry Menu Button>Update Profile, and wait for it to update the profile>Blackberry Menu Button once again>Update Preferred Roaming List and what for it to update as well. 2, Pull your battery out after you have updated those 2 things. Replace the battery after about 10seconds or so and let the phone boot up and try sending another text. :)
Report back if you can and let us know an update.
*Also* keep in mind Sprint is relentless working on their network right now to get 4G going in most places for the EVO, so bare that in mind. I have it do the same thing with mine, some days the coverage is great and holds steady and sometimes it goes up and down. In the 4 years I have been with Sprint I have only had 2 dropped calls. Non of which were with my Blackberry. So, yeah. lol :)
Lol thank you for the reply. Im looking all over my phone and inside the pandora app and i cant find where it says exit or shutdown pandora. Its running right now non stop.
Hit the Menu button and scroll down towards the bottom and you will see it.
Duh... im a **** lol.. I see it now, thank you so much! Now if i could only fix this damn error 97 message im getting when i try to send a text. Already called sprint and they were no help
*oook forums are back up finally*
Have you tried what I suggested in my previous post about your SMS error?
Yes i did them and still getting the same message. error 97 service denied
