In order to use BBM you have to know other peoples PIN #. Only people with a BB device can use this type of messaging.

welcome to the addiction! Ditto pp about BB messenger they have to have a BB and they have to have the data plan. Now that I have a few friends that I've convinced to get BB's we use BBM alot and I really like it.
