    Hey Guys!
    I just got my first blackberry, a used 8900 from a guy on craigslist. So far, I love it...I just wiped the phone, and I was going to put 5.0.592 on, but both my desktop managers (I run on a mac, so i have bbm desktop on both mac and windows side...) wont recognize the 8900. I downloaded the latest Desktop manager, and when its plugged in, it tells me to start by plugging in my device (?).

    oh btw. the cord im using isnt the oem cord, i didnt get it...i bought a charger from tmobile...its a usb charger...im trying to use that cord...

    That is a charging chord and it will not work. You need to get the micro usb syncing chord in order for DM to recognize your phone.
