Yep much are 3g phones, supposely with the new processor in the 8900 your not suppose to see the diffrence between 3g and edge ( that's what the at&t rep told me when trying to decide )..honestly you can tell edge apart from 3g

Its not 3G, but it is EVDO.

EVDO = EVoution Data Only

You do get "3G" download speeds but not all the other benefits of 3G. Either way, the download experience is very much influenced by the phone performance. In this case, the 8900 blows away the performance of the 83xx series.
